Summary: "a must have in every home"
Tons of easy to read information. This book is an excellent guide allowing the layperson to treat and cure many of the most common afflictions and ailments without the use of drugs. This guide uses herbs and treatments available at most health food and herb and vitamin stores. I will never try to do without again.

Summary: "Good reference guide"
This is a good book. The author describes in detail each vitamin/mineral/amino acid etc., what it's role in your body is, & under which circumstances you would want to supplement with it. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I didn't like the newsprint-ish paper that it's printed on. Other than that, this is a very handy little book to have around.

Summary: "disaster"
We expected this book to be a comprehensive description that the title said. We have such a book purchased previously. This book was a mere condensation of that which we wanted. It is useless! it is a waste of money! it is a misrepresentation!

Summary: "The Nutritional Healing Bible of Our Time"
The Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch is a precious resource for comprehensive and up to date information regarding nutrition and natural remedies. Though the book is big, it is an easy read and indexed well to enable anyone to look up necessary facts quickly. All of the common medical conditions and symptoms are covered (including those in pregnancy) with cures suggested using herbs and other natural substances. The book starts with citing basic nutritional facts and dietary principles. The subsequent chapters discuss vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids and so forth. Also, the tables are helpful as they list the name of the substance; plant derived from, suggested dosages, side effects and any unique information. There are several editions out with the latest being the published in 2008. However, most the basic information appears to be the same in all editions. Many of the retail health food stores use this book as reference for their employees to help answer questions customers may have. I feel it is also a worthwhile resource to have in your personal bookshelf at home.

Summary: "Nutritional Healing Guide to Supplements"
Since the beginning there were vitamins and minerals. They are natural and they are what your body and brain are made up of. It only makes sense to eat certain types of foods to feel better.
Natural is way better for you than the man made medications that harm your brain and body. Being exposed to harmful chemicals is bad and it seems people don't realize that they are exposing these chemicals to their bodies through medications, water, air, and other methods. People are eating and drinking foods without knowing what's in it and it could be causing them illnesses.
This book is a guide to natural supplements. It goes in detail about each vitamin and mineral. It explains about air and water exposures. This is a book I believe everyone should own. It's time to go back to the natural ways of healing.
